The third annual Aspen Fashion Week kicks off Sunday

The third annual Aspen Fashion Week kicks off Sunday, March 13, and features four days of runway shows, in-store presentations, on-mountain events and late-night parties.

The event is designed to showcase the latest winter ski and technical wear in America's most stylish ski town.

From 3-6 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, runway shows will occur at the Silver Circle Ice Rink, which will be transformed into “The Snowstage” for the four-day event. Jean-Charles de Castelbajac (JCC) + Rossignol will headline the Sunday runway show, in which Jean-Charles will present his 2011/2012 collection of high-quality, fashionable skiwear straight from Paris Fashion Week.

On Monday, KJUS will show its collection on The Snowstage along with Authier and Dannenmann-Pure. The next day it's Obermeyer, NUMBER: Lab and Neve Designs.

Also on Monday, Aspen Film will screen the new film, “Bill Cunningham New York,” a documentary about the famed New York Times photographer.

Boutique events in the evenings include Theory, Dannenmann-Pure, WESC, Arianna Zurcher and Hallie Sara.

The week will also include a collaboration with the Aspen Institute, a dialogue on fashion titled “Off The Rack,” where experts will discuss the global impact of fashion on entertainment, philanthropy, commerce and culture. Participants include acclaimed Paris-based fashion designer Jean Charles de Castelbajac, FEED founder Lauren Bush, and Massimo Redaelli, former head of IMG Fashion Europe and developer of Berlin, Moscow, Mumbai Fashion Weeks.

Ticket options include a $5,000 Aspen Fashion Week Runway Pass with daily reserved front-row seating for four individuals, or the $1,500 Aspen Fashion Week Event Pass, with similar hospitality treatment for one individual. A percentage of pass sales will benefit The FEED Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nutritious meals for school children as a first step to improving the global food system.
