At the last show of Milan fashion week, Roberto Cavalli gave us a dose of the unexpected with his Just Cavalli collection. And by that I mean that there's usually a lot of leg and bosom, but today there was none.
Purple leaf and floral print silk palazzo pants, long-sleeve tunics, three-quarter length shift dresses with two-tone suede Mary-Janes. Skirts were heavy, pleated, full and below the knee with cropped tweedy tops. There was a little of Miu Miu to this collection - with still showy pieces like the fur stiff top and voluminous skirt that you could see Anna Dello Russo working (and thank goodness), but in the main a sweetly unusual collection and a fitting end to the Milan season.
